In any field, there are frauds to diminish the smooth functioning of any firm. In online stores also some online forgery activities hinder the store reputation. Most of the online stores are very cooperative and generous to ensure the premium quality of their services until the back end processes to the customers. But the fraud activities put them down, and they have to stop such customer-friendly options even to their loyal customers. 

For instance, If a customer buys an expensive sweater from the online store and buys another one for a low price without quality from a nearby shop. Later the customer, by highlighting the quality issues, returns the cheaper one to the online store. This is a clear act of cheating. 

Like the above cheating, numerous cheatings are occurring in each online store day by day. There are a lot of bad buyers to put your store down. Some of the online fraud activities and their counterfeits  are as follows

1.Unwarranted returns

This situation happens when one buyer buys a product and exchange the product parts with some defective products and return. It is a severe offense that can affect the store’s reputation. In the end, they will claim a refund. 

2. Payment fraud

Payment Frauds are one of the common ways of scams to buy products from online stores. In this case, the person will use the credit cards, and PayPal accounts to purchase products that will be stolen. 

3. Service blackmail

This occurs when the buyer accounts for better-priced products, additional goods, or accessories from a seller. The buyer also threatens the seller by something terrible that happens to his trade or charge unwanted demands.

4. Auction Tampering

It’s not much common but still a problem for the sellers. This won’t be a real buyer but wins the sellers auctions and bid high amounts without the intention of paying. 

The culprits of these acts are usually the former buyers who are competing sellers. They sometimes act through fake accounts to avoid getting caught.

5. Not received trick

It’s an old method which they make use now also. The sellers have stories related to these false claims. The bad buyers will claim that they didn’t receive an item that they didn’t purchase, so the sellers have to face the loss, and they are receiving it for free. 

6. Returns abuse

Amazon and eBay are the two genuine return policy keepers in the online market. So the bad buyers take advantage of them, and the most common complaint is that returning an item as not subscribed 

Tackling bad buyers from online stores:

  • Easy Reporting: eBay makes it more simple to highlight such issues, particularly the auction tampering. They will alert them and look after the situation.
  • Particular policies for non-payment: If the buyer fails to pay for the products he purchases, eBay will help us to cancel the transaction and relist the item.
  • Feedback problems: If there is negative feedback and you are not confident ion addressing the issue you can hand it over to eBay to review the comment
  • Refund issues: If there is a refund or return problem, eBay will work for the seller and the buyer. Maximum the online store brings out a win-win situation, but if the customer has issues in history, then eBay will go for appropriate measures.
  • Use tracked delivery: To tackle the false claimers, the most common solution is using a tracked parcel delivery service so that the seller can receive a scanned signature or proof of delivery.
  • Keeping track of the serial number:  It is practically impossible to record the packaging and delivery of the products. So the bad buyers who play with the returning abuse are all over. To tackle this problem, the sellers have to make the serial number checking mandatory to avoid this.

Even though the fraud activities are considered as the black mark in the online market, most of the companies are not ready to share their details regarding the fraud activities. Some even claim that they don’t confront such activities from their beloved customers.
